Claire Ray, Dermablend's makeup artist ambassador, is going to show you how to apply your foundation if you have dry skin.
Prep your skin
So first of all, prep your skin so cleanse, tone and exfoliate, this stimulates the blood supply and it’s bringing fresh blood to the surface giving you a radiant glow and also remove any dead, dry skin cells.
The next step is to moisturise, that way if you have any dry patches on your skin, they’re going to be quite moist and make it easy to blend foundation over.
So if you do have dry skin, opt for a foundation like Dermablend’s Corrective Fluid Foundation. It’s quite moisturising and is extremely easy to blend so it’s not going to drag onto the skin.
As you can see, it goes on flawlessly and you can really build the coverage with this.
Use your fingers to blend
The next step is when you apply your concealer; use your fingers to blend.
Using my finger is going to help, because the heat and warmth from my fingertips is actually going to melt the concealer into my foundation, and give you a flawless finish.
Apply Dermablend's Setting Powder
My final step is to apply Dermablend’s Setting Powder.
What I love about this powder is that it really makes the foundation long lasting and you can build with the coverage. It doesn’t actually change the colour of the foundation, so even though it looks quite white and pale, it’s the perfect thing because its translucent.
As you can see I’m just patting it onto the skin. It blends extremely well, and it is completely sealing in my foundation and giving a flawless finish.
So there you have my top tips for applying foundation if you have dry skin.
